The One-Tool Challenge — 30 Days With One AI Tool
You have seven AI subscriptions. You use each of them a little. You are good at none of them. This is a structured experiment designed to break that pattern: pick one AI tool, use it exclusively for 30 days, and document what happens. The rules are simple. Following them is not.
The Pattern
The tool collector's default mode is lateral movement. You have surface-level fluency with all of them. You have mastery of none. Each tool gets your first 20 hours, which is the part where everything is exciting and nothing is productive. The One-Tool Challenge is a forced constraint. Pick one AI tool — the one you already use the most — and commit to it exclusively for 30 days. When it can't do something, try harder before you give up. When you feel the pull to open a competitor, don't. Document what works, what doesn't, and what you learn. At the end, you'll have something most tool collectors never acquire: an honest, experience-based understanding of what one tool actually does.
The rules are deliberately rigid. No "just checking" a competitor to see how it handles a prompt. No supplementing with a second tool for specific tasks.
